Quality housing services key to accreditation
Loddon Mallee Housing Services’ commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for people experiencing homelessness will be recognised by the Victorian Quality Council on Friday.
LMHS is one of the first Affordable Housing Associations in the state to be awarded the new Quality Improvement and Community Services Accreditation certificate.
The accreditation certificate from QICSA acknowledges LMHS’ delivery of quality housing services in accordance with the recently adopted Homelessness Assistance Service Standards and follows a six-month evaluation process and rigorous audit of the organisation’s policies and procedures, including interviews with clients, staff, and key stakeholders.
A driving force behind LMHS’ program of continuous improvement and the successful roll out of the HASS standards was Quality Co-ordinator Fred Beach.
"This is a terrific accomplishment for Loddon Mallee Housing," Mr Beach said.
"QICSA accreditation benchmarks LMHS and endorses the quality of the diverse range of services we deliver to homeless people across the region.
"It also means our funding through the Supported Accommodation Assistance Program is secure so we are able to get on and do the great work that we do ... helping homeless people in the community."
Mr Beach will accept the QICSA certificate on behalf of LMHS at a special ceremony on Friday in Melbourne.
