It feels like mine... it feels like home.

Committed to ending homelessness

Homelessness can happen without warning, but more often it is a slow insidious process. And it can happen to any one of us, not just any one of them.

At Haven we're committed to preventing and ending homelessness. We aim to do this by challenging the dominant paradigm and adopting a market needs approach to the delivery of support services and programs and providing better access to more affordable housing.

We also work collaboratively with public, private and community sector partners to develop and advance policy solutions to homelessness.

"We are, all of us, save for the vagaries of physical or mental illness, poverty, addiction, or unforeseen circumstances, one half step away from the troubled families and families in crisis we work with ... and just about the same distance from the safety net of services we have woven to protect and restore them.  Thus we make a grave mistake if we begin by thinking of 'us and them' It is just 'us'. All of us together."                 Professor James Whittaker, University of Washington
